Moldy feed

The phenomenon of moldy and spoiled feed occurs from time to time, especially in the summer and autumn seasons when the mold is more severe. Therefore, how to deal with and prevent feed mold has become a concern for many feed manufacturers and farmers. The current common practice in the industry is to add mold removers to feed. Mold removers can effectively prevent mold growth in feed, remove mycotoxins from feed, and improve feed quality. Types of commonly used mold removers in China:

Montmorillonite antifungal agent: utilizing the tetrahedral octahedral tetrahedral (T-O-T) interlayer porous structure and surface to form ionic polarity, it strongly adsorbs fungal toxins with the same ionic polarity. The strong adsorption force comes from the large surface area and electrostatic adsorption, and is endowed with titles such as "king of fungal toxin adsorption" and "gold adsorption". Due to its ability to adsorb and isolate Escherichia coli toxins, it has excellent protective properties for the intestinal mucosa and has a good effect in preventing animal diarrhea;

Yeast cell wall extract: Utilizing the chemical structure of glucose mannan in the yeast cell wall and its affinity for organic mycotoxins, it adsorbs mycotoxins, similar to the principle of soap degreasing, through surface affinity adsorption;

Enzymatic detoxification: Enzymes have good selectivity and can partially detoxify fungal toxins, but they are highly sensitive to high temperatures during feed processing and are prone to deactivation;

Chinese herbal medicine: The design of this type of product is aimed at improving the detoxification and adaptability of animal liver to toxins. It can be used in conjunction with other antifungal products, but its effectiveness is limited when used alone.

At present, research on mycotoxins and detoxification methods in China is relatively late, and a systematic understanding has not yet been popularized. In the 1970s, developed countries abroad began to pay attention to the harm of mycotoxins to the livestock and poultry industry, and tried various methods to prevent mold and remove toxins, including the improvement of grain mycotoxins detection methods, research and application of mold inhibitors, fermentation detoxification methods, microbial inactivation of mycotoxins methods, physical detoxification methods, thermal inactivation methods, radioactive detoxification methods, ammonification inactivation methods, adsorption detoxification methods, and so on.
